Indie developers can now submit their projects for Pixel Awards Europe 2022 — the largest European competition for independent creators. The winners will be revealed during Pixel Heaven Festival in Warsaw (June 10-12). The festival`s program also includes panels with famous industry specialists from all around the world. Today John Mechner, the creator behind Karateka and Prince of Persia, has confirmed his attendance as a special guest at the event.
Pixel Awards Europe is a competition for independent developers that holds 13 different categories. All indie titles launched after the 30th of September 2021 and those that are not released yet can be submitted for the competition until May 16th. The winners in each category will be selected by a competent jury. All nominated titles will be playable in the public zone of Pixel Heaven 2022. The 10th edition of Pixel Heaven has prepared a lot of activities for gamers and developers. Earlier Éric Chahi, the creator of Another World, confirmed his attendance as one of the panelists during the event. Today the roster was complemented by Jordan Mechner, the author of cult classics like Karateka, Prince of Persia, and The Last Express. Having previously collaborated with Disney and Ubisoft, Jordan brought up unique ideas that turned the Persian royal heir into one of the most famous international household names.
Pixel Heaven 2022 will welcome all types of gamers and industry specialists. Attendees will be able to meet with famous industry professionals, try out various games, dive into nostalgia in the special retro zone full of arcade machines and vintage consoles, get memorable merch, and much more.
The festival will take place from June 10th to 12th in the SOHO Warsaw (ul. Mińska 25, hall 19 & B58, Chrono Lulu Bar and its outdoor premises).
