Brush Off the Sand, Take a Good Breath, Enjoy the Charming World of Havendock, Available Now on Steam

Havendock, a cozy colony sim, invites players to craft their home in the middle of the ocean. Created by a solo developer Yeo Ying Zhi (aka YYZ), the game is out now in Steam Early Access as a part of World Earth Day celebration!

“12 years ago I started making tiny games as a hobby. Now my own first Early Access game is finally coming out. I'm so glad that players gave the game a shot and share their feedback with me. I'm super nervous, but at the same time — indescribably grateful for their support.” - YYZ explains.

Jakub Radkowski from the publisher Different Tales adds: “Honestly, Havendock is a one-in-a-million game. The fact that YYZ created this great thing in just over a year blows our minds. We just adore the game and its community, and if I could only say one thing to those who haven't played it, it would be this: fire up the demo for 20 minutes, then try to stop playing. Good luck."

About Havendock

In Havendock, you will build a settlement in the middle of an ocean – a peaceful asylum for you and many other castaways. But unlike most city builders, in Havendock you are the hero — the solo inventor and community leader! Start by collecting driftwood and obtaining drinkable water. Take up farming, craft your resources, cook delicious meals, explore neighboring islands. Things will escalate quickly. One day you might end up in a submarine, or a rocket taking off to the skies, while your settlers… disco on the dance floor!

Despite your predicament, it’s all about joy not survival – those who enjoyed Havendock describe a zen-like experience, a time to unwind, relax, and play to their own tune.

In Havendock you will also be able to:

● Automate everything — manage tasks and production to keep everyone happy and healthy. More settlers mean more needs to be met, but don't worry! You'll teach your new pals how to help, and together you can automate the things you like less. Some tasks can also be performed by fluffy animals or advanced robots.

● Set sail — exploring neighboring islands will allow you to gather valuable resources that can be used to expand the town. “If there are boats, then why not return to civilization?” - you may ask. But why would you want to, you’re making something better.

● Become an inventor — as the settlement develops, you will gain access to advanced technologies. Nothing will stop you from building a submarine, which will allow you to discover the secrets of the ocean floor. Drill oil, build power plants, but keep in mind that exploiting the planet means pollution!

● Try the experimental multiplayer — invite your friends and play in co-op mode. Have fun, but keep in mind that you’ll encounter a spectacular number of bugs as long as this is work-in-progress mode.

Yeo Ying Zhi, also known as YYZ, is a developer from Singapore who was driven to learn programming by his passion for video games. You can find several games in his portfolio, but Havendock is his biggest project he has been able to put together… despite his claims to procrastinate everything he can.
