Outside the Blocks is now available on Steam, offering players an advanced yet intuitive set of tools to create stunning, highly detailed dioramas featuring medieval buildings – and way more. The game is priced at $14.99 / €14.79 / £12.79, and during the launch period, it’s available at a 15% discount. To celebrate the release, solo developer Michał Kubas has prepared a special launch trailer.

Start the game, trust your artistic vision, and relax while creating enchanting dioramas. Outside the Blocks lets you fully express your creativity, offering the freedom to design every detail of your creation. A wide range of tools, models, and elements – along with the ability to customize each of them – offers virtually limitless possibilities for building and decorating your projects. You can create anything, from small wooden cottages to monumental castles with cobblestone courtyards. What’s more, you can bring each creation to life with special animations such as moving animals, rippling water, flickering flames, and gentle gusts of wind.

In this creative sandbox experience, players have full control over every element from the very beginning, including aspects such as shaping the terrain and setting the weather. Making dioramas allows you to fulfill your artistic ambitions, and your works can be captured using the advanced photo mode or displayed in a virtual glass sphere. In Outside the Blocks, you won’t find missions, objectives, or competition – the true driving force is the desire to bring to life the ideas hidden in the deepest corners of your imagination.

About the developer

Michał Kubas has been working in the video game industry for over 14 years. He began his career as a 3D artist, later gaining experience as a lead, mentor, and consultant, and now holds the position of art director at Quite OK Games. Over his career, his portfolio features both major AAA titles, including Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, Mafia III, and Dying Light 2, as well as smaller indie and mobile projects. Kubas is also a co-owner of Quite OK Games, whose debut title, Laysara: Summit Kingdom, launched in Early Access on Steam in April 2024.

Outside the Blocks is his personal passion project, born from a love of medieval architecture and a desire to give players the tools to create as true artists.
