You are the chief of a research expedition on, what seems to be, a harmless, long-extinct planet. Build an expedition base, plan research and field trips, take care of your crew and find out what happened to an expedition that came here before you. Become a part of a classic sci-fi intrigue and discover what really lies behind Project: Aurora – launching on April 30th
Tesseract Games, a Polish indie developer behind Songs of Rats, just announced the release date for their upcoming title – partially funded on Kickstarter – Project: Aurora. In this narrative strategy, truly inspired by science-fiction classics, players take on the role of a research expedition’s captain on the surface of a newly discovered planet Aurora, which appears completely desolate from orbit.

The game is set to launch on Steam on April 30, 2026 – however the demo version is available now, for those eager to dive into the space intrigue!
See what awaits your planetary expedition in the new gameplay trailer:
Project: Aurora is a narrative strategy in which the success of your mission is determined by the decisions you make – rarely with a right choicer. Your research facility must constantly grow and analyze material samples found on the enigmatic planet – and for that you’ll need processed materials. Investing in the expedition team and its proper preparation may pay off. However, in the face of the truth about Aurora, players may have to choose between potential profit and the highest stake – the lives of their crew.
Where science meets fiction
Behind the facade of a long-forgotten planet, in the ruins of a long-vanished civilization, lies a true cosmic mystery, fragments of which are based on scientific foundations. Sometimes, players' discoveries will be based on biology, geology, archaeology, or physics, and other times, the expedition may discover phenomena beyond the reach of modern science. These anomalies will certainly try to cut short their time on the planet. In exploring Aurora, players will also have access to tools grounded in real-life expeditions and excavations – science will become their beacon through the dark abyss of space, which holds many surprises – most of them not pleasant.

Dive into the cosmic mystery today with the demo available on Steam. The full version is set to launch soon, on April 30, 2026!
